The Return of the Old Guitar
Torrefaction is a process by which wood is heated in a controlled environment, cooking off the volatiles—the oils, sugars, and resins that naturally vacate the wood but only after many decades of drying. The vintage series is made of Torrefied top and braces, and is designed to listen to the sound of a long aged acoustic guitar on a new guitar.

Body
Deep tone and fast response
A dreadnought body with deep bass and vintage sound, it is perfect for playing strum and finger style. Especially, it will show you a short attack time due to lightweight torrefied top and braces.
Shape | Dreadnought |
Top | Torrefied solid sitka spruce w/ Woofer Line |
Side & back | Amara |
Bracing | Torrefied scalloped X-brace |
Torrefaction
Vintage sound without aging
Torrefaction is a process by which wood is heated in a an oxygen-free environment, cooking off the volatiles—the oils, sugars, and resins that naturally vacate the wood but only after many decades of drying. Torrefied top and braces will give you an aged sound

Body inside
Woofer Line
The Woofer Line along the inside edge of the top wood helps to further deepen the central area around the groove. It is the similar effect as woofer loudspeakers, which makes the presence of bass sound one step clear.
Body woods
Amara side and back
In the vintage series, Amara wood with the properties between rosewood and ebony was used for back and sides. It is characterized by the soft presence of the bass and the softness of the midrange.

Craftsmanship
Natural woodworking
Vacuum pressing & natural wood drying combined technology gives you a more solid sound. After the glue penetrates the pores of the wood sufficiently, it is bonded by slowly applying pressure to increase vibration and durability.
※ Although heat-drying and hot-press methods expedite the building process, they cause the adhesives to harden, interfering with the wood’s natural resonant qualities.
Neck
Diamond shape volute
The diamond shape volute on the back of its neck, used in traditional classical guitars, not only gives you aesthetic effects, but also increases sustain and improves durability.

Neck
Increased sustainability
The neck of Indonesian mahogany wood is a non-scarf type and guarantees long sustain. Standard-C type profile with high preference is applied. It has a matte finish for convenience of performance.
Species | Non-scarf Indonesian mahogany |
Profile | Standard C-shape w/ diamond volute |
Thickness | 1 3/4-inch at nut |
Truss rod | 2-way action |
Joint | Dovetail |
Construction | Joint at 14th fret |
Finish | Matte |
Wood drying
Three stages of drying
The wood is dried by natural, thermal and high frequency vacuum drying. In the case of high-frequency vacuum drying, moisture is removed from the inside of the wood, so there is little splitting or distortion coming from drying.
※ Only carefully selected timber that is well dried and seasoned is used.

Fretboard
Hard and even frets
On rosewood fingerboard, the 160Hv frets with 30% increased hardness deliver a durable and clear sound. It also reduces the risk of the fret lifting. Hexagonal wood inlays and wood bindings are decorated.
Species | Rosewood |
Scale length | 25 1/2-inch |
Radius | 12 3/5-inch |
Profile | Round edge |
Binding | Mahony |
Frets | 20 / 160Hv hardness |
Inlays | Hexagonal mahony / black PVC dot on side |
Rounded edges
Comfortable grip
Both sides of the fingerboard are gently curved for more comfortable playing. In addition, the rounded corners give you easier to play.

Headstock
Layered with bevel cut
The rosewood top affixed to the headstock contributes to the instrument’s aesthetic quality while helping to improve sustain, and in concert with the binding gives off a feeling of luxury. The 18:1 gear ratio Willkinson® antique tuners allow for precise tuning.
Angle | 14 degrees / 1-piece |
Logo | Silver metal hexagon logo |
Top | Rosewood |
Tuners | Willkinson® antique open gears |
Tuning ratio | 18:1 |
Binding | Bevel cut + black/ivory ABS layers |
Nut and saddle
Premium oiled bone
The natural material, oiled bone gives clear tone, is easy to set it up and less discolored. The nut with a width of 44mm and E to E spacing of 37.2mm is optimized for both finger style and strum-based performance.
Material | Oiled bone |
Nut | 1 3/4-inch width |
E to E | 1.464-inch |
Saddle | 2 13/16-inch width |

Bridge
Traditional solid rosewood
A special cut is placed in front of the bridge-pin hole to prevent ebony pins from protruding. It also reduces dents on the bridge by string tension. By the increased angle of strings to the saddle, it will be in tune though powerful strum.
Plate | Solid hard maple w/ honeycomb holes |
Pin | Ebony w/ abalone dot |
Bridge plate
Vibrating structure
Just beneath the bridge on the underside of the sound board is a discreetly affixed honeycomb-shaped solid hard maple bridge plate. Because the hexagonal structure reduces weight while reinforcing the sturdiness of the instrument, it contributes to elongating the time of sustained vibration from the sound board. Additionally, this unique bridge plate assists in balancing the whole sound of the instrument, maintaining it’s tonal character.

Decoration
Multiple wood rosette
Decorated with the wood rosette and bindings, which creates an antique look and feel. Transparent pickguard is enclosed, and the D'Addario® EXP16 coated strings are installed.
Rosette | Mahony and black/ivory ABS |
Bindings | Mahony and black/Ivory ABS |
Pickguard | Clear teardrop shape |
Strings | D'Addario® EXP16 |
Finish
Thin and light
Thin finished body will give you a more enriched sound. Electrostatic painting is sprayed thinly and evenly on the surface of the guitar, and the final gloss finish has been applied neatly by master builder's hand spray.
