HEX Sting P300 parlor body acoustic guitar
Hex Sting Series

For the serious players or musicians

In order to maximize the resonation of the Sting series' solid wood sound table, careful attention is given to its most meticulous details. From the woofer line to the bold sound and thinly applied light matte finish, both the sound and aesthetics of this instrument have been thoroughly considered in its design.

Body

Petite size

Compared to the D-body style, the mid-low tones of the parlor are nearly 60~70% milder, making it perfect for enjoying indoor and playing jazz or blues songs. Despite the smaller body size, a solid spruce top will give you a fully-voiced sound.

Body inside

Woofer Line

The Woofer Line along the inside edge of the top wood helps to further deepen the central area around the groove. It is the similar effect as woofer loudspeakers, which makes the presence of bass sound one step clear.

Craftsmanship

Natural woodworking

Vacuum pressing & natural wood drying combined technology gives you a more solid sound. After the glue penetrates the pores of the wood sufficiently, it is bonded by slowly applying pressure to increase vibration and durability.

※ Although heat-drying and hot-press methods expedite the building process, they cause the adhesives to harden, interfering with the wood’s natural resonant qualities.

Neck

Sturdy without deformation

The Indonesian mahogany neck is built of three-stage drying to minimize deformation. It is a standard C type profile with players prefer.

Wood drying

Three stages of drying

The wood is dried by natural, thermal and high frequency vacuum drying. In the case of high-frequency vacuum drying, moisture is removed from the inside of the wood, so there is little splitting or distortion coming from drying.

※ Only carefully selected timber that is well dried and seasoned is used.

HEX Sting acoustic guitars' fretboard

Fretboard

Low tension, more sensitive

The short scale of 628mm allows precise performance with slightly loose tension. On rosewood fingerboard, the 160Hv frets with 30% increased hardness deliver a durable and clear sound. It also reduces the risk of the fret lifting.

Rounded edges

Comfortable grip

Both sides of the fingerboard are gently curved for more comfortable playing. In addition, the rounded corners give you easier to play.

Headstock

Layered with bevel cut

The rosewood top affixed to the headstock contributes to the instrument’s aesthetic quality while helping to improve sustain, and in concert with the binding gives off a feeling of luxury. The 15:1 gear ratio die-cast head machines allow for precise tuning.

Nut and saddle

Premium oiled bone

The natural material, oiled bone gives clear tone, is easy to set it up and less discolored. The nut with a width of 44mm and E to E spacing of 37.2mm is optimized for both finger style and strum-based performance.

HEX Sting P300 parlor body acoustic guitar's bridge

Bridge

Traditional solid rosewood

A special cut is placed in front of the bridge-pin hole to prevent pins from protruding. It also reduces dents on the bridge by string tension. By the increased angle of strings to the saddle, it will be in tune though powerful strum.

Bridge plate

Vibrating structure

Just beneath the bridge on the underside of the sound board is a discreetly affixed honeycomb-shaped solid hard maple bridge plate. Because the hexagonal structure reduces weight while reinforcing the sturdiness of the instrument, it contributes to elongating the time of sustained vibration from the sound board. Additionally, this unique bridge plate assists in balancing the whole sound of the instrument, maintaining it’s tonal character.

Finish

Thin and light

Thin finished body will give you a more enriched sound. Electrostatic painting is sprayed thinly and evenly on the surface of the guitar, and the final gloss finish has been applied neatly by master builder's hand spray. The gloss finish gives a highly reflective, extravagant appearance. Additionally, it effectively protects against contaminants and is easily maintained.
